ICA Shop: Healing Rituals

Join Park Hyun Gi, founder of Baboshop, in a workshop on hand making traditional eastern incense using medicinal herbs. The workshop includes a brief history of incense, materials, and informational zine.

Park Hyun Gi is a Los Angeles based multi-discipline performance and tattoo artist whose research observes the impacts of Korean Shamanism in modern day capitalist Korea and the structures of a ritual. She uses incense in her performances as a measurement of time, cleansing of space, and exhaustion of pain. Park has been awarded residencies including MACAO (Milan, Italy), Bark Residency (Athens, Greece), and Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, Vermont).
