ICA Cinema: Amazing Grace

Wednesday, Mar 11

7:00 PM–9:00 PM

Aretha Franklin’s Amazing Grace became the iconic singer’s biggest-selling album of all time. Accompanied by Rev. James Cleveland and the Southern California Community Choir, Franklin recorded the album over two days in January 1972 at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California. The live double album is the highest-grossing gospel recording ever.

Nearly 40 years later, producer Alan Elliott has compiled footage from the performance into the stirring concert film, Amazing Grace.
