VPM + ICA Community Media Center

There are too many barriers to putting important stories into the world. The VPM and ICA are challenging those barriers by launching the VPM + ICA Community Media Center – a recording studio and workspace that is free, and open to the public.

Whether you’re a student interested in media, a professional radio host, or simply a community member with something to say, the Community Media Center is for you. Learn practical and profitable production skills from experts. Build community with other storytellers, and get your voice out in the world.

Test Pattern

Test Pattern is a hybrid performance series that invites visiting artists to use the ICA auditorium as an experimental production studio, inspired by the legacy of public access TV and alternative video movements in the US.

BlackGrounds

BlackGrounds is a new lecture series co-presented by VCUarts’s department of Art History and the ICA at VCU. The series will feature innovative art historical scholarship on the many ways in which artists from Africa and its diasporas explore the dialogue between the global and the local.
