Shy Lennox is a young artist making a name for himself in the new world of Alternative R&B. He studies vocal performance at Virginia Commonwealth University and has gained a sizable following in the Richmond area as a singer, songwriter, and creative director. He released his first EP titled “Audition” in 2018. His work has over 750,000 streams on Spotify and over 200,000 plays on Apple Music, putting his total streams at almost one million. Some of his major accomplishments include being a headliner for Virginia PRIDE, walking in New York Fashion Week, and having his music played on KRCW Radio in Los Angeles. He has been featured in the Commonwealth Times, Ink Magazine, IMIRAGE Magazine, the Artistic Manifesto, and was the first cover-boy for RVA Magazine’s 2017 Pride Guide. He is currently working on new material and visuals to be released this fall. On June 28 and 29, fifty years to the day after the Stonewall Riots, he will present a performance in response to Rashid Johnson’s “Monument” installation.
