ICA Visitors! Bring a garment to be mended as part of The Mending Project.
Advanced tickets are not required to access our exhibition galleries, but we encourage visitors to check in at the Welcome Desk upon arrival.
You do not need a ticket to enter the building, cafe, or the shop.
Certain programs may require advance registration.
Directions + Parking
We are located at the intersection of Belvidere and Broad Streets in the center of Richmond.
Two-hour paid parking is available in the ‘QQ’ lot adjacent to the ICA, at the corner of Grace and Pine streets. Paid VCU parking decks are nearby at 1111 W. Broad Street and 801 W. Main Street.
We encourage you to bike, walk, or use public transit.
Non-flash photography for personal use is welcome at the ICA, unless noted in the galleries. Share your images with us! #ICAVCU @ICAVCU
Want to sketch? Please use sketchbooks smaller than 11 x 17 inches and a pencil. Pencils are available at the Welcome Desk.
Food and Drink
Food and drink are not permitted in the galleries. Hungry? Please visit our cafe, Ellwood Thompson’s at the ICA.
Only service animals are allowed to enter the building. Leashes are required at all times.
We have a limited number of storage lockers for personal belongings. Consider leaving large parcels, items, and book bags at home. They are not permitted inside the galleries. The ICA is not responsible for items left in the coat check.
Please be respectful of the art and other visitors. Cell phone conversations should be conducted outside of the galleries.
Please use headphones when listening to mobile audio tours. Earbuds are available at the Welcome Desk.
Children younger than 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
