6–9 pm | Dialogues Digital Learning Lab
In the last ten years our collective use of digital platforms — like Google, Amazon, Instagram, SnapChat, Facebook, and YouTube — has increased significantly. Over 90% of Millennials in the U.S. now own smartphones! In our Dialogues exhibition Irena Haiduk explores the distinctions between work and play in digital platforms, while Martine Syms examines the intersections between race, representation, and technology. We invite you to come map out and reflect on your interactions with digital media and technology. Hosted by the ICA’s Student Engagement Committee in the Learning Lab.
6–9 pm | Ink Magazine Release Party
VCU’s fashion, arts, and culture publication Ink Magazine is hosting its annual spring event in collaboration with the ICA. This event is to celebrate the release of its spring print issue, where guests can pick up a free copy of the magazine and a screen-printed tote bag, have their face painted, and enjoy music by DJ boygirl.
