ICA at VCU is committed to the health and safety of our staff and community, and we want to ensure that people feel safe and welcome when our building reopens. We are currently reviewing various scenarios and considerations for the ICA’s re-opening, taking into account the current Virginia Stay at Home order, as well as health and safety guidance from the University and state and local officials. We look forward to welcoming our community back to the ICA at VCU, and will announce a re-opening timeline as soon as we, in collaboration with VCU, have determined that we can re-open responsibly and with the proper measures in place. First Friday: Great Force Exhibition Preview + Reception

Join us for a special First Friday, featuring the opening of our newest exhibition, Great Force, curated by Amber Esseiva. Through painting, sculpture, photography, video, and performance, Great Force examines the reality of race in the United States with new commissions and recent work by an intergenerational group of 24 established and emerging artists. Live window painting by artist Tomashi Jackson (7 pm, Forum). Provocations performance by Chino Amobi (5 + 8 pm, Gallery 4). DJ Michael Demps, refreshments, and cash bar (6–9 pm).
