Experimental music using plant biodata

Tavishi is the project of composer, performer, and biologist Sarmistha Talukdar, who combines her scientific research data with classical Indian music and ambient elements to produce atmospheric compositions. On Friday, she will generate music using biodata from some of the plants in Rashid Johnson’s “Monument” installation. On Saturday, she will be joined by Womajich Dialyseiz, an improv collective made up of women and gender non-conforming people, who will create a performance paying tribute to notable women in experimental music.
