Poetry Readings

River City Poets is a community group that highlights local poetry through monthly workshops, critiques, and open mic events. Later this month the group will be publishing “Lingering in the Margins,” an anthology of over fifty poets from Richmond and beyond. In response to Rashid Johnson’s “Monument” installation, River City Poets will offer readings created using the technique of ekphrasis, a dramatic, verbal description of a work of art.
