Provocations Performance: Kenneka Cook and Calvin Brown

Jazz, soul, and electronica

Kenneka and Calvin have both presented Provocations performances over the past year. Both have played at The Richmond Jazz Festival and many other venues around the city, and both released music in 2018: Calvin’s debut EP Dream draws on multiple influences, blending jazz, soul, R&B, avant garde, and funk; Kenneka’s debut album Moonchild premiered on Afropunk, and mixes soul-inflected vocals with electronic loops and spacey improvisational elements.

For their final Provocations appearance, they join forces for a performance combining jazz, neo-soul, and electronica.
