Virginia’s largest and most highly awarded screenwriting organization, the Virginia Screenwriters Forum, based in Richmond, is proud to present its Fifth Annual Short Film Showcase on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 1:30 to 4 pm. Admission is free.

For 35 years, the VSF has brought together aspiring and successful writers for film and television to engage in the art of creating award-winning, commercially attractive scripts in a variety of genres, including comedy, drama, sci-fi, thriller, and horror. More recently, the VSF has reached out to the Greater Richmond film community to partner with filmmakers, producers, directors, and a wide range of artistic creatives who share a love of movies.

Our members, drawn from around the Commonwealth, have won global, national and local accolades as well as collectively sold or optioned more than $1 million in film and television scripts. In recent years, VSF has also offered a national screenplay contest and an annual short film showcase featuring our members’ own work.
Please join us for an afternoon of amazement and fun as we screen original short films written, directed, and produced by our very talented members.
