Founded in 1999, the American Youth Harp Ensemble has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Alice Tully Hall, and Lincoln Center, as well as at national and international festivals. Through outreach programs, the AYHE uses the harp as a catalyst for positive change, personal growth and community service for over 800 students annually. In response to Rashid Johnson’s “Monument” installation, young harpists will perform a repertoire that recreates natural sounds.
