Weeks of Welcome Art Mixer

Interested in the arts? New to the Richmond arts scene? Held during VCU’s Weeks of Welcome (WOW), the ICA’s Arts Mixer brings together local arts and culture organizations for an evening of networking, music, and refreshments. Learn about Richmond’s vibrant arts community and talk with ICA staff, neighborhood gallerists, and arts professionals about the work they do.

Participants include 1708 Gallery, ADA Gallery, Agony Books, The Anderson, Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia, The Downtown Neighborhood Association / Richmond Arts District, Elegba Folklore Society, Gallery5, Ink Magazine, Material Room, Milk River Arts, Oakwood Arts, Reynolds Gallery, Studio Two Three, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, VCU Libraries Special Collections and Archives, Visual Arts Center of Richmond, and WRIR 97.3 FM.

ICA staff: Staff from the ICA’s communications, development, exhibition design / art prep, community media, and visitor engagement departments will also be stopping by.

VCU’s official welcome program features dozens of events and programs designed for new and returning students. WOW aims to help students engage with peers, faculty, staff, and resources to foster a sense of belonging, increase awareness of tools for success, and offer opportunities for students to get involved.
