Mindful Mornings: Observation Walking
Saturday, Sep 13
10:00 AM–11:30 AM
In an age of constant input, the ICA’s Mindful Mornings invites you to slow down and rediscover the act of being and seeing. Observation walking is the practice of cultivating presence through slow, intentional movement and environmental awareness, linking the rhythm of your body with the living world around you. By observing intricate patterns, textures, and sounds, you’ll find parallels to how artists and designers draw inspiration from natural forms. Each step through the Markel Center’s Thinking Field becomes both meditation and discovery.
Mindful Mornings at the ICA at VCU’s Markel Center is a monthly weekend program rooted in mindfulness practices with the goal of fostering well-being and a deeper connection to the natural world by actively engaging participants with the ICA’s environmentally conscious architecture and the landscape, flora, and fauna that surround it.
No RSVP needed. Program starts in the ICA’s Abby Moore Cafe at 10 a.m.
