Dance Ensemble

Christine Wyatt is a dance artist who received her B.F.A. in Dance & Choreography from VCU in 2018. She has worked with professional dance artists such as Liz Lerman/Dance Exchange, Urban Bush Women, MK Abadoo, Maria Bauman, Alicia Diaz/Agua Dulce Dance Theatre, and others. Inspired by Africanist values and aesthetics in American dance forms, Christine explores movement as a means for liberation in the body and spirit. In response to Rashid Johnson’s “Monument”, she and an evolving ensemble of black women artists present “Affirmative Reactions”, a multi-media performance celebrating their ancestors, traditions, and daily lives through collaborative art-making and storytelling.
