The VPM + ICA Community Media Center welcomes Hana Baba and Leila Day of the award-winning podcast The Stoop for a virtual talk, “You have a topic, but what’s the story?”
In this session we will break down how an idea evolves into a story. We’ll share from concept to completion the outlining of a podcast episode, prepping for an interview, and the scripting process. Then, we’ll share a finalized script as we walk through the production process.
The Stoop podcast explores stories from the Black diaspora that we don’t always share out in the open. Hosts Leila Day and Hana Baba start conversations about what it means to be Black, and how we talk about blackness in America, and globally. It’s a celebration of Black joy in all its diversity, with a mission to dig deeper into stories that we need to talk about.
