In 2020, Criminal and This is Love podcast producers Phoebe Judge and Lauren Spohrer had to cancel their live tour because of the pandemic. Now, they are teaming up with the VPM + ICA Community Media Center to bring you a hybrid live/virtual show, broadcast from the auditorium at the ICA at VCU. Join us for a live performance hosted by the most recognizable voice in podcasting.
Previously, Phoebe was a host at WUNC North Carolina Public Radio, a producer for The Story with Dick Gordon, and a reporter based in the gulf coast of Mississippi. She covered the BP oil spill and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina for Mississippi Public Broadcasting and National Public Radio. Phoebe’s work has won multiple Edward R. Murrow and Associated Press awards. She attended the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
Before starting Criminal, Lauren was a producer at NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday, NPR’s Bryant Park Project, and APM’s The Story with Dick Gordon. She has a Master’s degree in fiction writing from Columbia University and has taught at Columbia University, Duke University and The New School. She’s the founder of the online literary magazine Two Serious Ladies.
